I created a custom drumset using the individual samples and simply saved them as a preset. Takes some time as it it not just plu...

Re: Love the mouse or leave the mouse?
The Tascam is VERY rugged and 'feels' like a traditional board. As stated it does have the disadvantage of not having the 'channel name readouts' but for me it has the advantage of the built-in preamps and up to 18-channels at one time (using 8-ADAT and SPDIF). I use a dual monitor setup and place t...

Re: Blank spots in recorded soundbites...
Yes. I increased the buffer size upwards to 1024 and kept the tracking plugins to a minimum. Of course this adds latency for the band. Not only disabling the plugs but removing them during tracking. Ive noticed the problem only in 96k... what are you recording in ? 44.1 ? 96k ?

Re: Blank spots in recorded soundbites...
I had that issue once when I was running DP 4.12 At the time I had stock RAM and was spiking the performance meters. My solution was to increase RAM to 2.5gigs and fiddle with the buffers (depending on the track count). i havent had the issue since. Your recording 18 channels ? Hows the performance ...

Re: Love the mouse or leave the mouse?
I use the Tascam FW-1884 with the FE-8 allowing for 16 tracks of faders. I love it. Although I do use the mouse alot I have been moving away from it using more of the assignable funtions on the Tascam. The pre's sound sweet and its nice to have a 'traditional' control surface to work on especially w...
