Automating V-Rack Instrument Plugins

I’m running a DP11 session with several Sequences attached one V-Rack in the Chunks window.

My ‘Instruments’ used to be in the first sequence made, but have since been transferred to the V-Rack for convenience.

When an instrument was in the first sequence, it was possible to give it (time-bound) automation data. Now that the instrument’s in the V-Rack, it can’t hold automation data.

How should I automate changes to inserted effects, now that those effects are in the ‘timeless’ V-Rack?

...I’m assuming it’s done with Aux tracks in sequences, that feed their automation data to the V-Rack via buss. The trouble with this, is that it multiplies significantly the number of tracks in a sequence. Is there somewhere else I can put the automation data for V-Rack effects inserts, without multiplying the number of tracks in a sequence?

The only problem with V racks is that it does hold any automation data for obvious reasons.
Not sure if any automation data could be inserted to MIDI tracks for that V rack instrument.

I've a Chunks window containing several Sequences, and one V-Rack with Instrument tracks in it, which the Sequences’ MIDI tracks play.

The Sequences contain different compositions, but for the same V-Rack.

When I come to mix, I've an effect that I want to use on one Instrument. I want to be able to automate that effect in different ways, per Sequence.

As I understand it, automation data for a V-Rack Instrument’s plugin effect, cannot be stored in the MIDI track of a Sequence playing it. (- The option to use that kind of data, does not come up in the Sequence’s MIDI track for that V-Rack instrument.)

Is there a way of keeping the Instrument track in the V-Rack, and automating that instrument’s plugin effect from the active Sequence?

I think it’s an Aux track, not a MIDI track that is used in the Sequence, to store plugin automation data. The Aux track’s output is then sent to the V-Rack instrument whose effect it is controlling in time. The thing is, when I set up an Aux track in a Sequence, next to the MIDI track concerned, no option comes up to generate plugin automation data. So maybe Aux is not the way either.

Is it only Instrument tracks in Sequences that can store their plugin’s automation data? If that’s so, then I can’t have the Instrument in the V-Rack, as V-Racks cannot contain time-based data.
