Perpendicular vs. sloped controller lines?

Heck, i don't even know the vocabulary to search for the answer.

See the screenshot of a controller lane. I don't know why, I don't know what I did such that the two controller points at A are connected by a sloped line, but the two controller points at B are horizontal/vertical only.

How do I choose this when drawing MIDI controllers? How do I control this when editing existing controller lanes?

This is one of the great mysteries of DP. It came up at least two versions ago and there was a long thread on it. Might be related to data snapping to the grid or quantizing happening during recording. I’ve dealt with it by dragging the points around with snaps turned off, or adding and removing the points.

I've gotten used to disabling snapping (Command Key) while editing data points to avoid undesirable results.
