Silent MIDI vi - model 12. 8-/

Post by Alicorn 935/960 »

Hello I hereby lodge my entry for the noobiest question of the year.

Add: MIDI Virtual instrument track - Model 12, merrily adding and editing notes, now - no audio for this track.
This was accompanying a second track Bassline 1, works normally.

No visual indicator in mixer track display levels of data for model 12.
Track enabled/play enabled. Not muted. Output the same as Bassline 1 track which HAS audio and mixer signal.
MIDI channel appears to be right, (Ch1, same as Bassline 1, which I'm not sure about being correct).
Speaker *sound icon enabled in top display.
Model 12 instrument display shows no notes triggering of course. :(

I drag selected all of the model 12 MIDI notes and moved them to slightly later in the timeline which I think caused this.
I've drag selected the entire notes region again and looked for region specific mute/controls/changes or commands - cant see anything.
The Model 12 track MIDI protocol input is set to the Korg Micro key controller I used to enter the MIDI notes - should it just be set to MIDI?

Sunday morning, haven't had a coffee yet maybe that's the problem.
Would anyone be kind enough to offer some tips on how to get the notes sounding again please?

Ok well as always it boils down to....
Re-read the supplied documentation, re-read the supplied documentation..
experiment experiment etc. Youtube vids blah blah rah rah....
Very happy to do so as you don't gain expertise by sponging off others lol.
Found numerous workarounds for my lack of first hand knowledge.
Up and running! 8^)
That's the beauty of the digital realm, stuff it up? Don't understand it? - whatever - delete start over.

When triggering VIs, all of my MIDI controllers are set to MIDI; this includes my iPad. I sold my Korg Micro Key years ago but I know that the manual is still available for download.

Thank you for the information Mike.
I have been somewhat flustered due to the excitement and potential of owning the full version of DP.
I've settled down now and delving deep into its effective use.
Thanks again :)
