…and a call for Doris to get a raise. I just visited another forum (that shall remain nameless, but sounds kind of like an intravenous transfusion), and I came away physically ill. This other forum is very useful from time to time, so I really don’t want to abandon it, but despite the incredibly knowledgeable user base, I’ve never really felt welcomed or comfortable there. I've had some disagreements here, but I always feel as if I'm among friends, and I think I've met a few here. I would love to share a beverage with any one of you. Part of the reason is that this is a tight-knit and very focused community, but mostly it is because of the solid and fair moderation of James Steele.

Well thanks for the kind words. I guess part of it is that you can tell from the lack of advertising here that this is a labor of love and I'm committed to keep it going. With Facebook Groups becoming popular the post volume has slowed down, but I continue on because it does feel like a tighter knit group than some other forums. Plus, I don't purge old topics because I think there's a wealth of information here for people who might be running older systems, etc. So it's become a useful resource I think.
I've also tipped a beverage (or three) with some of the folks here. We use to put on a pretty good sized MOTU-MAC/MOTUnation dinner at NAMM each year, but that pretty much was a victim of the pandemic and also, AFAIK, MOTU has not returned to NAMM and I have no idea if they plan to be there this year.
Anyway, I do appreciate your taking the time to post.

+1 to cuttime's sentiments.
We do lunch here in San Diego periodically... how far are you away from us?

I think I may have stumbled across the thread you're referring to at the "other forum." Yeah... I'm feeling ill, too, but not for the obvious reasons. I put in place a strict no politics, no religion policy here so this place could be an oasis. We're all here because of what we share in common... not what separates us. I have to say, my moderation style would have been to just nuke that entire thread already... not that I'm taking sides other than I'm on the side of serenity. Go argue these issues somewhere else is my attitude.
