Digital Performer 11 slugging in session | Win 11

Post by rawa »

hello great nation of Motu!
I use win 11 and Digital Performer 11.22. it is fast when 1 or 2 audio tracks are loaded. but when I open a project that has lots of audio tracks, is becomes very slow in switching between tabs and some other places. I am searching for a long time for this answer, and I even couldn't find it here in Motunation.

I would be more than happy if someone could help me!

CPU: I5 6500T
RAM: DDR4 24G
Graphic: RTX 580
SSD M.2 For Windows Drive and SSD for Projects. 1 External HDD for Archive.
I wrote these that might help.

For me, everything speeded up exponentially when I moved from my Intel 5,1 Mac Pro (Dual X5680 CPUs) to Apple Silicon. With the older Mac, I used my second monitor quite a bit, as switching views was painfully slow. With my M1 Mac Studio, windows redraw almost instantly.

Not to say DP shouldn't be more efficient, but that's my experience.

MOTU is the name of the company. Digital Performer is the name of the app. I'll fix your post.

Try opening a tech support ticket to see if MOTU has any ideas. I have only a slight delay selecting tabs on a good size session with a mix of several VIs, MIDI and audio tracks. Somewhere on MOTU's site is a document outlining what they suggest for Windows system optimization. OTT, I would look to the video card and drivers (possibly conflicts) as the source of the issue.
