Hi there,
In Pro Tools, when I want to align 2 audio tracks, I just select one track and option click the other audio track, and that audio track will be moved to the selected audio track.
I know there's several workaround which takes multiple steps in DP but just wondering if there's similar one key to do this?
How to shortcut to move audio to another selected audio?

You might be able to accomplish it with some combination of things like clicking on the soundbite to select, maybe moving the current playback to selection, adding a marker at the selection then snapping to the marker.
I'm not sure what the combination would be. But if you have time you could go through the commands and see if there is a little series of moves that would be quick. Otherwise, it would require moving and zooming and moving and zooming-- which is what I do when I need this.

Yeah there isn't that type of action in DP.
However what you can do is move the play wiper to the start the soundbite you want to sync to then add a marker.
Next go to the soundbite you want to move and select it.
Use command+L (This calls up the Shift window)
Choose the tab "Time or Marker"
There is a drop down menu that probably says "Sequence Start"
Click that menu and you will see the Marker you just created
Select that and hit ok
There is probably a few ways to do it but none of them are as simple as the way PT does it.

Re: How to shortcut to move audio to another selected audio?
Rockman, I'm curious exactly what you mean and when you encounter the need.
Do you mean, when working in Pro Tools:
Select audio in Track A
Option click audio in Track B
Selected audio in Track A is aligned (start point, I assume) with audio clicked on in track B
Or did I misinterpret?
If the above describes your situation, I suppose the need would arise when you have several audio tracks that were recorded simultaneously (so start point for all tracks was identical), then you moved one and you want others to line up. I can see how making this happen when working on projects that aren't cut to a click could be a pain. When working with a metronomic reference, it would seem to be a non-issue, just drag & drop, unless you were shifting audio for feel.
Care to illuminate further? Thanks!
