In a Mac I believe you just drag the plugin from the top of the Vrack into the tracks window (the left side of the tracks window). Probably the same for Windows.

I do not understand. Plugin?

Moving between channels only works in both Seq/V-rack (drug on bottom), but how to move channel from V-rack to Seq (or backward) I still do not understand.

Sorry, Grab the Vrack from the CHUNKS window (use it's MOVE icon) and drag that into the tracks window. The Vrack instruments will move in as regular VIs (which are also considered plug ins).

Hmmm
Grabbing the Vrack from the CHUNKS window to Track window will copy all instruments in Vrack 8(
And it's not normal when say 20 or more instruments..

So and how to move only one instrument and not the entire rack with instruments? The question in the first message was about it..

First off, as of my latest look in the manual, being able to grab a V-Rack and drag it into a sequence isn't a well documented feature. Hopefully that's why you wanted to know if any of us knew I would assume, as you already tried to find the information in the manual. There is no way to drag a single instrument in a V-Rack into a sequence.

So, it was a forum question here that prompted the finding that you could indeed drag a V-Rack back into a sequence and it actually loaded the instruments etc. into a sequence! :)

"Hmmm" sounds like you didn't think the answer was good enough, that's too bad, as I don't know that you have any hope of getting a better one, plus it's kinda 'demandingthat an answer be given' when any help you get is treated as not good enough. Here's a clue, it's not a documented feature, so the answer is simple really, simply reload all the instruments, Aux tracks, master faders etc. you don't want to import into a sequence back into the V-Rack and in the future make note of this and have a separate V-Rack for importing/exporting.

Thanks to all for help! I tried a lot of time to solve this problem so I came to for advice on the forum..

So no such function in DP. It's a strange, you can move the instuments from the seq to the v-rack via the menu track in Sequence editor but you can't get it back later 8(

I have another question about working with v-rack - How do I change the color of the instrument in a V-rack? Also impossible? =)

It's not impossible

You can change the color of tracks in V-Racks. [One of the modifier keys, I think Option] + click.

Taaa daaaa!

For moving instruments from V-Racks to chunks, what's the big deal about simply deleting the ones you won't use? It takes no longer than a few seconds to do it...

Thank you!

-Color picker in Mixer, ctrl-click the track name
-moving a single instrument track from v-rack to sequence:
1. create an unassigned instrument track in sequence
2. In the mixer, show both the V-rack track and the new sequence instrument track you just created, then drag the assigned instrument from the V-rack track to the sequence instrument track
3. Delete the (now unassigned) instrument track from the v-rack
4. Reassign associated MIDI tracks' output assignments

(Also the above can be done clippings: highlight the instrument in the v-rack track, copy to a clipping, create an unassigned instrument track in sequence, drag the clipping to the instrument insert. Not much different than abound)

This is the fastest way that I've found to move a single VI track from a v-rack chunk to a sequence chunk. Dragging a v-rack chunk to a sequencer chunk, copies every track in the v-rack to the sequence making doubles or every track. You must then delete all the doubles in the sequence except the single track you did want to move to the sequence, then delete the original in the v-rack, then reassign the MIDI tracks as above.

Either method is not as easy in DP as going the other way with the "move track to v-rack" command. I've often wished for a single command that would move a V-rack track back to a sequence, and don't know why MOTU made the command only available in the sequence chunk. As it stands, it's much easier to go one direction than the other.

Hello!

Didn't work for me, nothing happens, only quick "highlighting" 8(
For example Alt+Ctrl - yes it works, rename track
Maybe there is an option in preferencese for the ability to set the colors in mixer...
