Multiple track Color change shortcut

Post by Schweats »

I think I've lost mind as I can't for the life of me remember the shortcut to change color in multiple tracks

I thought the routine was highlight the number of tracks you wanted to change color , hold the 'T' key and
click on the color icon and all tracks highlighted will change to whatever you point to in the color palette
once it opens. I've tried other keys , searched the manual, searched Shooshie's user tips database
and I'm drawing a blank.

Any clue ?

As Always Many TIA,
Schweats

Setup / Colors / Assign Track Colors

This brings up a dialog with numerous options. The last option sets selected tracks to the same color. When you choose it, you will see a color swatch appear at the bottom of the dialog box. Click it, and you will get your color chart. Choose a color, and all selected tracks will go to that color.

It is that procedure...but it is finicky. you have to do things in a specific, correct order. Highlight all the tracks you want to change color....then hold down T key....keep holding....then with mouse, click on color square....keep holding T key....navigate to color you want...are you still holding T key?...good.... select new color...on release of mouse button all will change. then of course release t key. It is the release of the mouse button on new color that makes the change...when the T key is continually pressed.
Regards,

Brian Ralston

If you assign the tracks to a Group, you can set preference so all colors, and many other things, change together.

You can double tap it and it will "stick", so you don't need to keep holding it 8)
Tap it again to go back to normal.
Same applies to w.

Select the tracks and press & hold T and change the color on one of the selected tracks.
This "T" short cut can be used on about all track related stuff. :)

EDIT.. cool to know the "T" can be stuck double tapped..

Well...it looks like you wrote this 12 years ago, but thanks again for this in 2025!

Unfortunately he hasn't been around here in quite a while.

IIRC he dialled the music-making thing right-back or to the off position several years ago in order to make time for "life".

Oh yeah, the double-tap-T thing was covered in a DP webinar IIRC, which would've obviously been more-recent than this 12-year-old thread.
