Re: Finale 2010 announced
Thanks, Mr. Frodo. I just got an e-mail from them. Seems kinda early, don't you think? Some of the new features look cool though. I've been hoping for better control over chord placement. I do a lot of lead sheets.

Re: Finale 2010 announced
It really does seem early. I just got 2009 in the Fall-- not that 9 months isn't a long time to see a product update, but this one comes for a fee. It's starting to feel a little WUP-ish.
I never had much trouble with chord entry, so I'm still pondering the few other new features to see if it's worth ordering. Otherwise, I'll keep 2006 and will use it along side 2009 for a while longer.

Just got an e-mail from them saying Finale 2010 in now shipping. $100 upgrade price until September 18. Seems a little steep to me for a product that's just got a few new features. Dunno, I may hold off.

Re: Finale 2010 announced
I've always felt the Finale actually releases a new version every other year, and the in-between years seem to be more incremental updates. I have taken to the odd-year upgrade path for nearly 10 years now and have never felt like I missed anything. My last purchase was Finale 2009. I think I'll wait for 2011.

Here too. They haven't emailed me. Maybe they're reading my posts on the Finale site...bkshepard wrote:I've always felt the Finale actually releases a new version every other year, and the in-between years seem to be more incremental updates. Re: Finale 2010 announced
In a moment of weakness (and tempted by the idea of improved measure numbering, auto-rehearsal marks and Dare I say: Dare, Dare!) BUG FIXES! I ordered Finale 2010 today. Don't hate me guys (at least any more than you might already).
As things progress I'll post reports. Frodo, will you EVER forgive me? What can I do to make it up to you?? Waffles?

Caution: Link will open a PDF of The Waffle Menu. Your hips may never recover!

Re: Finale 2010 announced
Ah, waffles.
Here I am on the eve of of the big Mt. Doom endeavor (it's 2 AM and I've only now gotten in from the final rehearsal before the dress still sweating a million cues)....
... the thought of waffles is killing me.
Why? Because I've ordered (and have just received) the P90X physical fitness package which I hope to start next week.
I figured it would do me a lot more good than updating Finale-- at least for now.
Waffles. I'm in trouble.

A tick bite a while back left me in rough shape for about 3 years. During that time of sedentary life I packed on more than a few pounds. Finally I'm feeling well enough to start jogging again and I'm trying to loose the weight I put on...and you have to bring up waffles!
I love waffles.

iHop runs closer to the Belgian school of waffle making- slightly different approach from the American "flat" waffle, but close your eyes and it's no less yummy!bkshepard wrote:Personally, I'm an IHOP kind of guy.

I've been good so far about staying on my diet, but I fear I'm waffling.

It's always fun to look at the pictures, but I must say this is very tempting!! Yikes.
I'm down 5 pounds already, but I could eat 10 pounds of these things. That's a lot of treadmill!!
