How does MSI compare to....
How does MSI comare to the Miroslav library (which I have)? I also own East West Gold which I like but at times since I can't change the ambiance it's too wet. The Miroslav is nice but it's instruments are generally composed of not many samples so you hear the pitch change. I'd like something dry like that but maybe slightly better. I'm not a full time film score guy either if that helps. Thanks for the info.

i have Miroslav Phil and i like it a lot. It's great combis are useful for sketching ideas quickly. I would say it's warmer sounding than MOTU SI and you can control the ambience better. Some of the samples have more feeling in them than even the EWQLSO and VSL plug in libs that I own. There is a scaled down version if you don't need the full library.
Mac Pro 2.66 ghz w. 15 gb RAM, DP 7.24, Kurzweil PC3x, MOTU 2408Mk3, Symphobia 1&2, LASS, VSL VI/VE Pro,MOTU Mach5.3, SI & Ethno 1, Omnisphere, Trilian, CineBrass, Albion, tons more...

I assume I pretty much have that with my orignal miroslav giga library, huh? So no need to get the sample tank version. Probably more of a convenience factor I bet. Thanks for the info.dcoscina wrote:i have Miroslav Phil and i like it a lot. It's great combis are useful for sketching ideas quickly. Well, from what I know IK Multimedia didn't just transfer the samples over to the SampleTank engine but also tweaked them, created new combis, and added choir. I do think it's a great sounding library although too expensive in todays EWQLSO and VSL Vienna libs that are running around the same price with velocity switching samples, hall release trails, and 35 gigabyte libraries. If Miroslav was $250, then it would be totally worth it to buy it. Unless you can competitively cross grade, you might want to stick with your Gigastudio version.daveyboy wrote: I assume I pretty much have that with my orignal miroslav giga library, huh?
