I want to record my guitar with cans on and listen to what the waves GTR vst sounds like wet while I track.
How do I do this? When I use the monitor button on cubase all I hear is the dry signal. Do I need to adjust a setting on the 828mkii like volume or some other such thing? Am I missing a routing step?
The guitar is going into the preamp on the front of the 828, then out via a send to the compressor for peak control, and back in to the 828. I am monitoring and recording as I did with my other hardware interfaces in sx3.
How to monitor realtime VST effects in 828/cubase? PLZ HELP!

In Cubase SX under Device Settings you have to uncheck "direct monitoring" and this will allow you to do what you want. Unfortunately it will also hog ram and increase latency so depending on your system, it might not really work for you.
