Dr REX style VI for DP?

Post by amplidood »

Is there a VI or something that will let me use REX files the way you can in Reason? I really love the way that works, but the sound quality would be better straight outta DP.

Anyone?

Spectrasonic's Stylus RMX is a popular choice. Haven't run across an unhappy user of this app. It's a drum machine extraordinaire.

E-Lab's Obsession allows you work with up to eight REX files simultaneously.

Supposely, the new MOTU MachFive (version 2, yet to ship) works with REX files like Reason does.

Question: Why do you think that a VI running inside of DP will sound better than Reason as a ReWire client feeding into DP? Both choices require cooking the MIDI data to audio inside DP. How is ReWire client audio different than internal VI audio?
