Isn't the full price of Massive X $200?! This is the full version, right? That shows how drastically over-priced it is? Or, how poorly it's selling? Need to jump on this as soon as my power comes back on...

MicSwap Remix AI Stem Splitter

Post by cuttime »

I can't vouch for this other than it is free TODAY 6/11/25 ONLY. Start the onboarding and see the lifetime subscription for $0.00. An iOS version. too. AI powered- what could possibly go wrong?

Hmmm... I went ahead and grabbed it. Even texted our good friend HC Markus to go grabb it before the special deal ran out. Although when I got it, the lifetime subscription was 99 cents. I still went for it.

I just not got around to loading a mix into it and was a bit underwhelmed. It seems to only generate 4 stems: Bass, Drums, Vocals and Other. I had also loaded this mix into Spectral Layers 11 so I was familiar with those results, and seems like Spectral Layers 11 produced better results... at least on this particular source. Oh well... 99 cents... might as well.

UPDATE: I just listened to the stems in SL11 again. I need to do some A/B testing. In this one song, seems like bass guitar was very muffled in Mic Swap... but had more clear attacks and more high end in SL11. But other stems like Drums and Vocals I need to do a closer comparison in the future.

Pretty complicated set of in-app purchases. At least there are some perpetual license options. I'll pass. I hope Spectralayers continues to improve/evolve.
M1 MBP; OS 15.3, FF800, DP 11.33, PC3K7, K2661, iPad6, Godin XTSA (w/ SY-1000), 2 Ibanez 5-string basses (1 fretted, 1 fretless), FX galore

My experience as well. I put in a track that had string parts, and in addition to taking forever to analyze, the results were completely baffling.
