Window focus

Post by Freddy Bloggs »

In DP 11 is there a way when I go to the main tracks window in the consolidated window, I can put the focus on where the MIDI or the audio is so that I can zoom in or out with my key command instantly, as opposed to having to click in that area and then I can zoom in or out?
It's only one more step but I do it a lot. I think it works that way when not in consolidated.

If by Focus, you mean the panel that is active in the CW, not sure, but I think you can do this with a Screenset that was saved when the focus was where you want it. You can assign a Key Command to the Screenset, and use that to get to the view you want, and have a different Screenset for each view you might use. .

I tried that but no luck. There doesn't seem to be anything being focused on when the window is recalled.

It may be a bit convoluted, but you may be able to use Keyboard Maestro to create a unique short cut that simulates pressing the hotkey for your Window Set and then by either using a key combo or a mouse click, activates the cell of the CW you want active.

The key command for Set Focus to Next Cell is command ` . Set Focus to Previous Cell is Command Option ` .

In the Consolidated window you can see a thicker line around the window that is in focus, often it opens with a sidebar in focus so if you can commit these commands to memory then you'll save a step. :)
