Copy/paste MIDI?
I select a soundbite. I r-click and 'copy'. I move the playhead somewhere else. I have the same track selected in Track view. I r-click and select 'paster'. Nothing happens.
Can't get copy/paste to work in Sequence view either.
How do I copy/paste MIDI data in DP? What am I missing?
Thanks!

Re: Copy/paste MIDI?
Not sure... but it may be that you need to use the I-Beam Tool and either click in the track where you want to paste it, and THEN paste, or perhaps even select a small duration and paste. Don't hold me to it. I'm too lazy to go look right now and there may be a better way. If there is, I'm sure to be corrected in 3... 2...wwzeitler wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 11:51 am I select a soundbite. I r-click and 'copy'. I move the playhead somewhere else. You've got to give the data a location to paste to; the playhead does not so this for you.wwzeitler wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 11:51 am I select a soundbite. I r-click and 'copy'. Select data, Copy, then select a region of any length starting where you want the data to be pasted and paste away.

Re: Copy/paste MIDI?
It might be helpful to know that if you have selected and copied (or cut) from multiple tracks, and you are looking at the tracks overview, you can click on a bar and paste-- but think of the bar you select as the upper lefthand corner of where the clipboard will paste. If you select a destination that doesn't match (stereo/mono/MIDI) what DP has in the clipboard, you'll get an error.
In the MIDI editor, the I-beam tool can create a paste destination. You can hover over the ruler until you see an I-beam, or you can hold down i (I think?) to change the cursor into an I-beam down in the main MIDI editor window. If Grid Snap is enabled, clicking there will go to the nearest grid-- so you might have to hold down the key that disables the grid-snap (on Mac it's COMMAND).
