Does anybody have an idea how much the max. input is on the line in ?
( I guess the input slider is not an active gain circuit @ the first stage of the inputs ? )
Maybe someone has a diagram ?
Thanks
and best regards
Klaus

Re: Macbookpro9,1 line in headroom ?
Well, you made me go and look. I have two mid-2012 MBPs: a 13" 9.2 with a single Audio I/O port and a 15" 9.1 with separate ports. The 15" can also handle 7 channel surround via optical with an inexpensive Fiber Optic Toslink to 3.5mm Mini Adapter ($6 for a pair on Amazon). Optical along with Audio I was dropped — don't know when but my 2017 no longer had this functionality.
Anyway, this is all that Apple has to say about it:

I used to use mine to import cassette deck and turntables through an RIAA preamp so I know that they handle -10 consumer/semi-pro levels.
I never fed mine anything hotter and went to FW and USB interfaces later.

Re: Macbookpro9,1 line in headroom ?
Thanks Mike
-10 seems to be the nominal level, but not the max before clip...
and the input slider plays its role too...
I am asking because I need to know the facts to set up REW for SPL logging, esp. @ very hot levels above 100dBA
I'll probably have to use a hot generator to check...
Best regards
Klaus
