Is there any way to bounce a mix in dp 4.61??
I am wondering if there is any way to bounce a mix in dp 4.61 like in logic 7, anyone???

Cheers,
Geoff
Sorry , probably is because i am french, and i am not totally bylingual, my question is, is there any way that i can bounce an entire mix in a aiff stereo track from a project, like we do in logic 7??
thankx!!

Assuming the French manual (is there a French manual?) is the same as the American English manual, you would go to pages: 485, 823-828, 830, 826.aeon wrote:chamelion wrote:hmmm.. why don't I understand the question? If not, then go to the First Section of Part 9: Mastering.

Mastering part explain it, i did what explain, but it seems that it only bounce audio files into stereo track, i have soft synth running, and they don t get bounce in the mix. In logic, it bounce audio files with instrument and so on.

I found it in page 830, it says assign all output to a stereo bus and add a stereo track to records the final mix from that stereo bus.then record. So this is a real time bounce to disk.
It is easy, but it could be easier like in logic.

Well, I have to say your English is a lot better than my French. Glad you found it. I have bounced more than one audio file to silence by not apying attention to which outputs were selected in the bounce dialogue box.aeon wrote:I found it in page 830, it says assign all output to a stereo bus and add a stereo track to records the final mix from that stereo bus.then record. So this is a real time bounce to disk.

Ah, the wonders of machine translation.
I too have bounced silence by not having tracks play enabled.
It is also a good idea, I have found, to pay attention to the various choices one is given in the bounce menu. One useful bit of information is where the file is going to end up after bouncing.

OT but...
Nowhere close, but I do have a nice '64 Strat and a '65 Deluxe Reverb in my modest collection... oh, and a '62 P-Bass as well.
Just thought I'd congratulate Tim on his 500th post and listing of his awesome guitar and amp collection!Tim wrote:Yes, one can. The problem with the method described on page 830 is that in a large session with lot's of external processing, VI's, bussing and submixing it can take a long time to first identify and make note of where each track was assigned to, and then considerable time to reassign to the original configuration outputs after the bounce. Say drum room mics are assigned to hard ware outs 5+6 going to a stereo hardware compressor and retured via and aux that is assigned to buss 3+4- drum submix. 4 synths going to hardware preamps etc. coming back, background vocals etc. With 60 tracks going to a dozen sets of outputs identifying who is going where so it can be reset is a pain. If you don't and you do further overdubs you will be listening to your old mix until you punch in on both the mix tracks and the overdub/punchin tracks.
Maybe a partial workaround would be to do a Save right before reassigning any outputs and a revert after the bounce- it seems convoluted and would still take time to individually check which outputs need to be reassigned to the "final mix buss". Is there a shortcut to, for example, change all interface out 1+2 outputs to bus 1+2 out without touching other assignments?
Then doesn't one additionally have to take the extra steps of exporting the resulting stereo mix as an interleaved file, in the bit rate desired (eating up time and diskspace)?
ProTools includes all elements in it's real time bounce function without requiring reassignments. It would seem it should be simple to be able to just record the audio stream that is being fed to the monitoring outputs without having to do reassigning to a bus.

I always take the "extra" time to export as suggested because in the long run I've found that it actually takes a lot less time to do it this way.spirit wrote: Then doesn't one additionally have to take the extra steps of exporting the resulting stereo mix as an interleaved file, in the bit rate desired (eating up time and diskspace)?

I must say, exporting virtual instrument MIDI tracks to audio is my favorite feature in Logic, among the few-- and it's FAST. I can see why so many would appreciate the same feature in DP. I hope it's on MOTU's priority list!
