Here we go again - log-in

Post by SmilesLots »

For the past 3 weeks I have had to log in about every other day. Last time this happened, about a year ago, it went away on its own. Any ideas?http://www.motunation.com/forum/posting ... e=post&f=4#

No problem using the Intel version of Safari. I might have to log in once every few months if there's a server issue, but that's the only time.

Yeah... it's weird, guys. Don't know what to tell you other than so long as I'm just a user like y'all without designs on being a professional website dude, you'll have to bear with it. I alleviated nearly all my pain by dedicating FireFox to this site. Firefox is setup for me to take me to the "New Posts" page upon launch. I did get logged out recently, but logged back in and was okay.

I also just let you know that because this board is NOT the sole focus of my life (as I know it isn't for you guys), I'm not anxious to spend a LOT on hosting here. For years this site had been "hidden" from Google's bot and was not indexed. We didn't exist, unless you found the link on MOTU's support page or heard about us via word of mouth. In some ways I miss that. When I changed settings and Google started crawling us, not only did we get much more traffic (which may be exacerbating the log-in issues), we also got more of the hit-and-run "help me now, dammit!" posts from users who don't really wish to be part of the community, but just get quick answers.

Oh well...

James, it seems to me it happens more often if I have Ad Block on, rather that whether I'm using Safari or Firefox. Maybe related to a variety of dodgy extensions.
