Upgrade ordered. Had no trouble with the Decapitator beta, so I'm hoping all the others behave fine as well...
Re: YAH Soundtoys version 4 tis out
Great news that a daily DP user has tested it. Know if the older plugs been changed?Kubi wrote:Upgrade ordered. Had no trouble with the Decapitator beta, so I'm hoping all the others behave fine as well...

Well, I used the beta of Decapitator. They did say that the release version will differ from the beta, so we'll see. Once my iLok license is deposited, I'll run v4 and will be able to tell you how/if everything else works. They mentioned there are some changes for all plugs in preset management etc. But SoundToys has been very good to me over the last few versions, so I'm hopeful!

Just ordered my upgrade as well , i wish the speed worked in DP, anyone know why it doesn't?

I'm so sorry that you are under the impression that it is a pain to "deal" with iLok. Nothing could be simpler.newrigel wrote:I'm so glad I don't have to deal with iLok!

Just all those USB slots taken up... I have the UAD dongle (plus doubles for DSP) and it's so seamless... double click to authorize and an authorization file ends up on the desktop. Drag or double click done. Plus that Massive Passive is pretty choice. I had an iLok and they get finicky @ times.
Re: YAH Soundtoys version 4 tis out
Okay... I stand corrected. It *could* be simpler. Fortunately I have had no troubles with my iLok. I suppose I would be telling a different story if something went wrong, but so far I have only experienced reliability and convenience.newrigel wrote:Just all those USB slots taken up... Do any of you SoundToys upgraders know what all this new "Present Management" stuff is all about? I couldn't find information on their website.

Re: YAH Soundtoys version 4 tis out
Looks like it works like a charm, and keyboard commands remain available. Hallelujah!!! And it sounds as good as ever...
Preset management seems to be simply a better interface to get to them, and a quick button labeled "organize" to go to the folders in the application support folder in the user library to organize presets into folders. Can't *really* use DP's previous/next preset commands anymore, but the gains outweigh that IMO.

Damn... I'm not sure I like the sound of that. I usually save a bunch of presets into specific user folders like "acoustic guitar helpers" and such, and then use the previous/next preset commands to audition each preset in the folder when I am looking for something that sounds good for my acoustic guitar or whatever else I am working on. I hope I can do something similar with the preset management system.Kubi wrote:Can't *really* use DP's previous/next preset commands anymore, but the gains outweigh that IMO.

Re: YAH Soundtoys version 4 tis out
I'm guessing it's just a way for soundtoys to have the same UI and place for preset-handling on all platforms they have (AU, TDM, VST, etc) as well as some other goodies they probably have up heir sleeve for handling presets.zed wrote:Damn... Just a guess though.....

I think Speed is only for Pro Tools. It's a TDM or Audio Suite plug.Just ordered my upgrade as well , i wish the speed worked in DP, anyone know why it doesn't?

Re: YAH Soundtoys version 4 tis out
Bought my upgrade license on Friday and received the iLok auth today, so will install and try tonight (hopefully).
It is advised to uninstall version 3 first (and probably the demo of Decapitator as well), based on some early bug reports from those who didn't.
I don't know whether this "breaks" projects that are pointing to instances of SoundToys plug-ins or not, though, and whether those plug-ins will have to be deleted and reinserted and re-load their settings (I make it a habit to name and save most of my plug-in settings for this very reason, but often just document offsets from personal or factory presets).
