Indeed! And a very kind, approachable man as well. I had the honor of meeting him on several occasions at ADF (the American Dance Festival).

The modern dance world has lost two of its greatest artists in the last few weeks. In Germany, we have been mourning the loss of Pina Bausch who died on June 30.

I heard about this when it happened.

I spent some time hanging out with one of his students when I lived in NYC. He was pretty fascinating to chat to. He would go on mushroom hunts with Merce and John Cage. It seemed like a pretty crazy time.

This was sad to hear about.
