No doubt there are amazing artists doing remixng. It a question of rights, not art. It remains stealing if permission is not granted. There are talented thieves who may be a pleasure to watch, but they're still thieves. Ask Bernie Maddoff.

the remix's I am talking about are done with the Artist consent,they supply the files or master tapes and give the remixers the freedom to do whatever they want.
I am not talking about DJ's that steal bits and pieces of other peoples work, slap a beat on it and call it their own.
There are thieves, and hacks in every segment of the music business and there are also some brilliant creative artists who happen to do brilliant jobs of remixing material.
on the NIN website Reznor has at times supplied the raw files of some of his songs for people to Remix and submit to his website.

I am 1000% for artistic remixing done with permission or with public domain works.
