Unisyn and Leopard

Thanks mate. I gather Rosetta is employed automatically.

I've been dreaming for years about having an iMac for Address Book and iTunes on the table near the 'phone for convenience.
As the machines become more impressive and my budget tightens, it's a frustrating position to be in.

I'd hook the audio outs up to my stereo (Airport isn't an option for me as I'm too sensitive) and Address Book would mean an end to the ever-expanding clutter that is my telephone number directory.
For these two purposes alone it'd be worth having.

Hopefully your new machine will behave itself and serve you well.

So what is the verdict on Leopard? Does Unisyn work?

Billy, I'm ashamed to say that I've still got the OS9 software in its box on a shelf.
It didn't support much of my MIDI hardware at the time of purchase, something I'd researched extensively and been assured that it would do.
I was so disappointed at the waste of money (I think it was $500 at the time) and the fact that the store wouldn't accept it back that I've managed to ignore it thus far.

If MOTU were to build it into DP and if it supported my equipment I'd certainly use it; it'd certainly be a lot more convenient as far as session snapshots are concerned (as opposed to the storage of individual sysex dumps on discreet tracks).

Then again, Billy, how difficult would it be to integrate it into DP, an app that it's already built to integrate into.

MOTU could make an API specifically for DP. I know it's wishful thinking, but I have a boatload of outboard hardware that I use, and I know I'm not alone, so we need a solution like Unisyn to continue forward.

Just a follow up: Unisyn 2.1.1 DOES work on Leopard, 10.5.3. Phew.

Ripper! So MOTU's halfway there; slapping it into DP should be a no-brainer... sort of.
