GOTO Hang Bug...

I used to get this bug, back in about the first two weeks of 5.13. But I have not had it since. I work daily in DP, sometimes for 36 hours straight. I'm moving around constantly with the keypad-dot key. It never happens anymore. I just went over and tried to make it happen. Couldn't do it.

Let's take a quick poll: how many people who have the bug are using Leopard and DP 5.13?

Mine seems to have quit around the time I installed Leopard. I could be wrong about that... but I think that may be the difference.

Using Tiger here... it's happening SO MUCH MORE in 5.13 it's almost unworkable... I might have to revert back to 5.11... which is did happen in, but very infrequently and only when I had memory cycle on... but I will wait till I am finished with this project and see if it project dependent...

I have not had it happen since I moved to Leopard, however, I have not used DP as heavily since then. Waiting for the update and hoping my latency problem is solved on the busses.

I justed moved to Tiger... got my system stable (I thought) so I can't move to leopard just yet.... but I can move back to 5.11.... This is by far the WORST DP bug ever since it's random and happens even when the sequence is stopped and you are not doing anything intensive....

Ok, you can't move to Leopard (in which DP is 100% stable on my system) because you just got stable on Tiger (in which DP is constantly crashing in your setup). I don't get it.

Sems to have started here with Leopard and I do use a lot of UAD plugs at 96K......

For me if I use NO UAD, I never get the problem. So, what I am thinking here, something different going on for multiple of us with similar results. Doesn't mean it isn't related somehow, just not as straightforward to troubleshoot.

UPDATE: I just talked to a WAVES tech and according to him and I quote "there is no way to get a stable DP session without making sure you have Run in realtime mode selected on every WAVES plugin"...

Again this is for DP5.13 and Waves 5.9.7... so that is what I am doing now... make sure all WAVES plugins are running in realtime and I'll see if this solves the beachball problem for me...

Since that hell day, everything came back to normal and I didn't experience the GOTO thing anymore

I wonder what I did...

I'v had a project with waves plugs, worked on it all day and did not experience it either, BUT this is a new project and today I just experienced the GOTO bug on this new project... if WAVES is correct, then It might start to creep up as I load up more and more WAVES plugs on there and not have them setup as run in realtime... we'll see I'll switch them all of on this project as well and see if I don't have this issue anymore... I'll deff report back..
