Hope you don't mind if I chime in. I am actually going through prolotherapy because I have a bad right hip, so it's different from carpal tunnel syndrome. I would see a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) because they are required to study the musco-skeletrical structure more in depth than an M.D. In fact, yo...

Upgrade to DP5 w/out DP4 Installed

It's a good feeling to coming back and checking this forum. I have decided to start using DP after a 2-year break, thinking that PT and Ableton Live could give me the MIDI features that DP has. MIDI clock drifts and cumbersome MIDI edting in PT and Live led me to come back to DP but I have this prob...

I just got a UAD-1 Ultra Pack and compared it to the demo of the RenMaxx plugs. I am so glad I went for the UAD-1 because the Waves plugs aren't that good compared to the UAD-1 1176 and LA2A. Waves is too overpriced and the quality is average. I understand that the Waves users would love to jump on ...

Nobody here has mentioned it but one truly great mic for vocals is the Brauner Valvet (and the VM1 if you have $10,000 to burn). Vocals always seem to cut through the mix almost effortlessly. The C-12 is a modern scam IMO since it does not resemble much of the original C-12. After you listen to the ...

Two things that I would like, 1) +12dB faders 2) Key input (audio and possibly MIDI) available for ANY compressor/gate when the plug supports side-chain. It' s a bit annoying that I can have the waves rennchannel using the side-chain in PT but not in DP. The only option I have so far for side-chaini...

Re: DP + Waves; MAS vs AU

Interesting. I was thinking of getting the small ren maxx package for my home setup. Should I avoid waves and go for the wave arts trackplug? I have the sony oxford plugs for PTLE but no dynamics package for DP.

Re: Vintech 1272 For Starters

Just adding one note real quick. The Neve sound is not aggressive at all. It may well be quite the opposite, it's smooth and silky at times. I have no business in selling audio equipment as it is not my job, but an alternative to the Vintech is the following. http://www.seventhcirclestudios.com In a...

Re: Vintech 1272 For Starters

I have never used the ISA428 but I have been tracking on neve console (8078 board with 1073 preamps) for some time. If you are looking for a certain degree of warmth the Vintech will give you that, which is really the main characteristic of the Neve sound. I have never used the ISA428 but the Neve s...

Eventide Eclipse 3.0 vs TC Fireworx

Ok, I am interested in an outboard unit for FX stuff. The two boxes I'm considering are the Fireworx and the Eclipse 3.0 I am pretty sure they are both good units but I would like to know your take on which are the strengths and weaknesses on each box. I would mainly use either the Fireworx or the E...

I totally agree with you. I don't have the time to serve as a beta-tester.

Re: 896HD or 192HD? Which is better?

AES is the top digital transmission protocol. Matter of fact, It bothers me a bit that I have to deal with lightpipe for my 01V and 002. Well, that's life.

Cheers

Re: DP with digi 002--optical out help needed

You don't even have to launch PT to set the 002 to external clock or sampling rate. Just go to the DIgidesign folder, launch the Digi CoreAudio Manager with no other program running on the background (PT or DP) and click on the HW Setup. Then, you can choose the FS and clock (int/ext). Do not quit t...

Re: 896HD or 192HD? Which is better?

draudio2u - excellent post !!! Personally, I like the Prism 8 channels although it doesn't sound as good as the Pacific. The Lavry Blue can be slaved to external clock, of course and it's got wordclock in and out. Keep in mind that Lavry only has AES digital in and out. I never tried to slave my Lav...
