Yes, exactly as you suggest, I connected the two devices - while the sync was made fine, the output was filled with noise exceeding 0db. It appears to be voodoo at this point. And furthermore, my solution as previously stated, now apparently does not work either because trying both outputs of the pr...

solved

I synced the Digital MPA via wordclock - now everything works perfectly, though syncing thru the ADAT out should have worked fine. :?:

ADAT lightpipe, 2408, ART Digital MPA

I am enjoying the ART Digital MPA mic preamp with digital outs. Spdif connection works very well. Optical out produces noise that is is a combination of hiss and very distorted audio (my voice). I am connecting this optical out to "adat in" on the old 2408 - exactly as MOTU suggests using ...

If your hard drive goes to sleep, you will experience similar problems. Check energy saver in system preferences, uncheck "put hard disk to sleep..."

What I'm thinking, and this is a stretch, is that MOTU has outlawed 122. 121 and 123 can be inserted as controllers, but not 122. Perhaps because they enabled local control as an insertable mode change event... doesn't explain the "B" reject though.

Thanks again. Your conclusions equal mine. Controller 122 is 7A. Global ch is 1 so, B1 7A 00 seems right. I tried B0 7A 00, but still DP has an issue with "B" it seems. I have also tried a more complete string for the M1 which is F0 42 30 19 4E B1 7A 00 F0 with same result. 4E = mode chang...

No it won't. Tried that. The binary code the M1 will receive is 1011 nnnn 0111 1010 0000 0000 where nnnn is the global channel. In hex it is B1 7A 00 but DP will not accept the B1. Also, local is controller 122 which DP will not accept either, so I'm screwed it seems. But thanks. Ya know, there seem...

Unisyn, DP5.11, Mac Pro

Unisyn 2.11 gets all the data correctly from my gear, but doesn't update DP entirely. The gear in question is the old U220. Further, the midnam file the system provides shows only 64 patches though the U220 has 128. Any ideas guys?

Audio interruptions DP5.11 Mac Pro 3Ghz

Hey folks...just got the new system; while it is as fast as imagined, there is one problem - while playing back tracks - if I open a plugin window or adjust tuning on a playing track, I get an annoying break in the audio playback. Has anyone experienced this yet?
