Helpful Tip for Panning Stereo Tracks
It seems the panning knob for stereo audio tracks in DP's mixer window is really just a balance control for L & R. I've found that if I need more panning control, DP's Trim plugin is my friend: Once inserted in the track, I can unlink the panning and/or volume of the L & R sides and control them independently from within the Trim plugin. Power to the people!

Re: Helpful Tip for Panning Stereo Tracks
This has been driving me nuts for years… the least they could do is label it Balance on stereo tracks…

Re: Helpful Tip for Panning Stereo Tracks
I sent a suggestion to them that maybe they could add a small toggle button next to the pan pot (visible only on stereo tracks) in the Mixing Board, similar to the buttons next to the aux sends, that would toggle panning types between balance and true panning. Seems kinda kludgy that we have to use Trim or a third party plug-in to do this.

Re: Helpful Tip for Panning Stereo Tracks
Agreed. Also Putting the Trim plugin right in the mixer, just like they did with the masterworks compressor and EQ, would be so amazing as we could set and see the settings right there without having to open anything. This is an obvious one...James Steele wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 12:17 am I sent a suggestion to them that maybe they could add a small toggle button next to the pan pot (visible only on stereo tracks) in the Mixing Board, similar to the buttons next to the aux sends, that would toggle panning types between balance and true panning. All for this one. And put it in the mixer view list so those who don’t want it don’t have it taking up space. I have it in all my templates.

“Bump” to this?James Steele wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 12:17 am I sent a suggestion to them that maybe they could add a small toggle button next to the pan pot (visible only on stereo tracks) in the Mixing Board, similar to the buttons next to the aux sends, that would toggle panning types between balance and true panning. I was in Protools today and there was the option to have two pan knobs on a stereo track as opposed to one pan knob.
I could really hear the difference in the mix-field or whatever the heck it’s supposed to be called.
I really don’t want an explanation of the science, just it would be nice to have that as a possible default setting.
I would use that.

Re: Helpful Tip for Panning Stereo Tracks
5.1 tracks have terrific panner options native in DP by the way.
No plugins needed.
Motu did a terrific job with that from the very beginning.
