You'll find quite a few threads on this around the forum, several on plugins that might not work properly in DP. On stability, I have 10.13 running now on 4 Macs, and it's the first OS X version since Snow Leopard that I can leave running indefinitely, not having to restart to resolve problems after a day or two. Local networking is still flaky, but better than the last few versions.

It took a little sorting out in the beginning, big breakthrough was discovering (here on MOTUnation!) that disabling the VSTs in DP allowed my UAD plugs to work properly.

I haven't booted up my Sierra partition in weeks now. Running smoothly for me!

A UAD-2 update was released on March 20 that should fix that.

The big one that’s left appears to be VEP. It’s working fine in the 10.13.4 beta but no one’s declaring victory till it works in the final release (next week, maybe?).

I'm little bit nervous about making the jump. I should figure out what older 32-bit plugs I still use and then write Sound Radix and see if they will stay alive in 10.13. Main one is Liquid Mix. That is still chugging along and working with it's dedicated hardware under Sierra. I'm not interested in "boat-anchoring" LiquidMix just yet.

Good to hear all the things that High Sierra fixes for you, bayswater, as those have been nagging issues for me as well and I've lost countless hours unsuccessfully trying to isolate the causes!

Maybe I'll do the upgrade in mid-May, after the next update and after some of my first travel in years (I'd prefer to have two uninterrupted weeks to iron out any unforeseen issues with an OS upgrade).

Yea, 32Lives has been weird.

First, the announcement that it wasn't going to work—faggedaboutit. Ok... Then I discovered that all my 32bit plugs worked if I they did in Sierra and I updated the OS even though I was getting error messages saying that they wouldn't. I could not "wrap" them on my 10.13 test drive, only my upgraded SSD. Ok... Then the announcement a 32Lives update was now compatible with High Sierra and that Sound Radix is working on making it compatible with the next Mac OS, too (but the beta hasn't been released).

So... make sure that everything works before taking the plunge.

Oh, there was one 32bit plug that failed: JBridge. Since 32Lives now wraps some (but not all) VSTs — and 32bit VSTs didn't work before DP 8, I considered it a non-issue.

It worked for me, but from watching this forum over the past couple of years, it's apparent that different hardware from Apple now behaves differently with the same OS version. The advantage that OS X had over Windows, the hardware-software integration than gave a consistent result across Macs, seems to have disappeared. On addition to the Macs in the signature, we have HS running on a 1-2 year old 11" Macbook and 3-4 year old Mini i5 but I would assume nothing about any other Mac model.

One big fix for me on the iMac is the ability to restart. Under Sierra, restart always failed, hanging part way through. The system had to be shut down completely, so updates that required restarts were inconsistent at best, and sometimes impossible.

Something I now find essential is a test partition I can use before taking the leap.

OS 10.13.4 is released today. I don't see the Combo Updater yet.
