DP4 and ADR for film

Post by nikita37 »

Hello all,
I have a prject for a film coming up shortly in the studio and we have alot of ADR to do. I usually just use Final Cut to do this but was wondering if there is any way to set up video output to my NSTC monitor from DP4 for voice looping? I have not found a way yet, and, as we all konw, the book does not tell you much.
Thanks all,
Travis

No, you're the only one who knows that.
I don't have the manual in front of me but I believe pages
643-645 explain DP in use with a firewire camera or deck.
That's where I figured it out any way.
That's also if you're referring to DV Video.
Digital Performer can also work very well with SMPTE time
code through a synchronizer like an inexpensive
MicroExpress USB (which can handle LTC timecode)
I've done alot of ADR work with DP, a DV camera and an
NTSC monitor.
Or DP an old 3/4 inch deck a Microexpress USB.
Easy as pie and all in the manual.
