DP7 and .fla movies

Post by Shogun Assassin »

greetings,
i was recently asked if i could add some sound effects to a .fla movie.
everything in the DP manual says that DP only works with quicktime, so i was wondering what would be the best way to add audio to the .fla movie. is there a .fla to quicktime conversion?
if so how does it work? would this cause any unforeseen problems( frame rate, etc)?

thank you so much for your help.

.fla files are authoring environment files for Adobe Flash. If someone wants you to put sound in a .fla movie it sounds to me like they want you to go into Flash and add the sounds via keyframes or actionscript. Flash can export Quicktime .mov files to make things easier.

yeah i looked that up. they are going to send a .mov instead of the .fla which will make things much easier. woo-hoo!

"Easier" is a bit of an understatement. A .mov will make it possible!

for the future buy the skysoft converter for a few bones - you can convert any movie to .mov. and QT pro 7 is still a workhorse for managing size conversions, etc.
