FireWire with Ventura?

Post by fradubio »

Hi,
Has anyone had any luck with FireWire and Ventura for an 896HD?

I upgraded to a new Mini. I managed to get the FireWire hard drives to show on the desktop, but it still doesn’t see the Motu 896HD.

Granted, it is an old interface. I was going to try the 8 pre es, but they are all back ordered, so will try the Behringer interface in the meantime… but if anyone has a suggestion for getting the old 896 to show, that would save me!

Thanks.

It's not supported but, if in good shape, you'll need this driver. Go to Downloads on the MOTU site. Look for Audio Interfaces and 828mk3 Hybrid.
Driver Supports
MOTU Audio Installer
Mac v89555 | Oct. 13, 2021
macOS 13, macOS 12, macOS 11
You will need a FW400–800 adapter or cable, That plugs into this

which plugs into this
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MQ ... asin_title

which plugs into one of your TB 3/4 ports.

Read this and make sure you do it within 30 minutes. Everything has changed in Ventura so I don't know how that translates.

Make sure that you enable Access to the Microphone.
