Re: DVD to QuickTime Movie Conversion?
Use Quicktime Pro.
I just converted tons of .vob files to MPEG4's. Then cut them up into .dv for use in iMovie & iDVD with QT-Pro.
You can save them as .mov too, which DP will open

Re: DVD to QuickTime Movie Conversion?
An app called DVD Backup will extract the files from any DVD and remove encryption, reset region coding, etc. Used on commercial material only with permission, of course.
An handy app called DVDxDV will open the DVD or vob source files and convert for DV use/QT movie.
These can be easily found online at minimal to no cost.

Check out Cinematize 2.0. I like it a great deal.
