Consolidated window changes unexpectedly

Hi all;

I'm seeing benign, but odd behavior from the consolidated window lately, and I'm not sure what might be causing it.

I always have the Track Selector, Markers and Track Group windows open in the left sidecar of the consolidated window. Recently, when I've gone into the studio and woken up the MacBook, I see that one or two of those windows will have disappeared, so I need to re-add and re-position them. This started several weeks ago, and I haven't been able to directly associate this with any software install or update. I generally leave my MacBook on and open all the time with DP and my latest project open, and just let it hibernate between sessions - maybe this is part of the problem? But if so, why just recently?.

While I'm mentioning it, I quite often see the track selector window in the sidecar go blank when switching the main window (from sequence editor to mixer window for example) - I just need to click in the main window to re-display the track selector list, then all is well. This has been happening so long, I don't remember if it ever worked without doing this, so I'd just accepted it as a quirk when switching between windows. But is it?

These are minor annoyances, but everything else is working fine. I'm fully up to date with DP and with MacOS, and I'm using a new M4 MacBook Pro (need to change my signature page). Any ideas?

Are you experiencing it in macOS 15.4.1?

This used to be a common wake from sleep issue for me since I got my Studio in 2023 but I haven’t noticed it in the last couple Sequoia updates. Rebooting and reopening DP always put everything back.

Tried it on a MB Air 2 (see sig, except using DP 11.34) and didn't get this after a sleep and wake up. As suggested maybe, a Sequoia thing.

Yes, I'm at 15.4.1. I've restarted the computer multiple times, and still see it. Just happened again this morning after my initial post.

I just had a look at some of the login and background items and removed or turned off a few that I don't need (NI Agents, a UAD Apollo driver, and one or two other things); maybe that will help stabilize things...

the bar should automatically recognize the anacrusis value without the user specifying it
Sorry I wasn’t clear. Shifting DP windows was something I noticed in Ventura and Sonoma, mostly. The latest builds of Sequoia have a different issue that may or may not be related.

Nowadays, If I move windows near the edge of a screen, the size and layout may change. This can be browser, any app including Word, Excel, Finale, DP, Premiere etc. Using three monitors, this gets hairy. If there’s a way to turn this off, I haven’t figured it out.

Workmen are replacing a power pole today so my studio is offline (we’re using solar backup battery power at the moment). I intend to put in a support call to Apple after full power is restored to have a chat about this.

Yes, I did save the window set yesterday, so that if it happened again, it would be just one click to return things to where I like them. But after deleting those startup items, all was as I left it yesterday when I came down this morning. So either I resolved the problem, or maybe because I had saved the window set, that setting persists through hibernation somehow. Either way, progress!

Just to close out:

I did continue to see changes in my consolidated windows after sleep in Sequoia 15.4. I must have just gotten lucky when I wrote my previous post. I just installed 15.5 - we'll see if that helps.

But window sets is a one click solution that I can live with.
