Surprise before spring with this version 11.34 _ 8)

https://motu.com/en-us/download/#category=5&product=489

Enhancements introduced in version 11.34
Fixes
• Fixed a crash that could occur on macOS when dragging clippings out of DP.
• Fixed a memory leak related to movie frame previews on Mac.
• Fixed a bug causing the Respell tool in QuickScribe not to work on MIDI notes on channels other than channel 1.
• Fixed an issue where using the Detect Latency feature of Hardware Insert would result in an invalid reading immediately after making a change to the FX chain when connected to an aux bus or master fader.
• Fixed an issue that could result in Hardware Insert latency not restoring correctly when first opening a project.
• Fixed an issue causing send/return assignments not to restore correctly when toggling Hardware Insert presets.
• Fixed a crash when doing "Paste at Original Time".
• Fixed a crash that could occur when clicking the solo button in the channel strip on MacOS Sequoia.
• Fixed a bug preventing DP from launching successfully when an invalid file alias is present in the MOTU Clippings folder, resulting in the error message "Master Pointer was nil (-109)" followed by a crash.
• Fixed a bug causing DP to reexamine all previously skipped plugins of the same format in addition to the selection when attempting to reexamine specific VST2 or VST3 plugins from the Audio Plug-in Preferences.
• Fixed a crash that could occur when viewing insert parameters on certain plugins (such as Waves) through EUCON.
• Fixed Musio dropouts during pre-gen playback.
• Fixed a bug causing a single counter not to update correctly on Mac when the aux counter is hidden.
• Fixed a bug that could result in a blank cell when opening a sidebar in a project file from Performer Lite that was saved with the Tutorials window open.
• Fixed a timing issue with articulation delays and the quantize effect.
• Fixed a bug that could cause unselected tracks to become selected when bouncing to disk.
• Fixed a bug that could result in VST3 plugin or preset settings getting corrupted when saving and reopening a project, or when restoring presets.

Versions 11.33 and 11.34 coexist, after this recent update.

I don't see the crash from merge soundbites fixed, nor do I see a fix for the wiper position and playback not being properly coordinated. I'll check to see if any of those have resolved anyway.

Whoah! I've been using my workarounds for so many years (DP 7, 8 or 9? I can't remember) that I forgot it was a bug.

Depending on the number of selected tracks, those workarounds were either to a) solo all selected tracks or b) mute all unselected tracks. If this is finally fixed, it will streamline my workflow a bit.

Wow, that's another crazy one in that I've never experienced it! Like so many I've experienced that others haven't.

Hopefully the hardware insert works now!

Kontakt 8 loads faster for me. This was after a shut down and reboot so not cached RAM.

That's a bit 'snappier' in my book.

It actually DID!!! Kudos to MOTU for that

I think I can actually delete my Keyboard Maestro macro that went though the mixing board and opened all instances of the Hardware Insert plug-in and re-entered the sample offsets. Tracks with hardware inserts on them now play on time when the project is first opened.

Unfortunately, EuControl support took one step forward and two steps back. It fixed recalling customer parameter maps, but it broke other stuff. There may be a fix coming from Avid though... I'm hopeful about that.

11.34 still crashes when a dialogue box to LOAD, IMPORT, etc., accesses the search feature in the dialogue box.

Fantastic! Just downloaded the update. Can't wait to patch in my Lexicon and try it out. It's funny, I was just getting ready to report this bug to MOTU again this week. Now I don't have to! Long time coming! :unicorn:

Best,
Babz

Thanks, I'll do this update right now, specifically for this one bugfix that has become a big problem for me now that I need to use a mix of VST and AU plugins:

• Fixed a bug causing DP to reexamine all previously skipped plugins of the same format in addition to the selection when attempting to reexamine specific VST2 or VST3 plugins from the Audio Plug-in Preferences.

The other bugs aren't ones I have encountered in my workflow, except for a couple that I saw once or twice but didn't have steps to directly reproduce.

Oh man, I had all three of these recently! The Manual says you can put an alias in the Clippings window to load that alias, crashed DP every time. The solo bug on the Channel strip was killing me too, I do that all the time, last night even, knowing full well that the bug existed, I'm among the ones who reported it.

DP11 is officially the oldest version of DP since v4, and this definitely looks like a final bugfix update, just saying. 8)

Oh and dragging REX files into the Tracks window still hard crashes DP on Apple Silicon.

Really happy they finally fixed this for you and others! It's definitely one of those things that needs to work correctly in any DAW..

Unfortunately, I am not able to use hardware inserts at all in DP, because it doesn't (and cannot) support my interface. I have to go to Pro Tools to use hardware inserts directly, for mastering, etc. I can still mix in DP, only because I have a console with outboard inserts.

That's a good one. Almost didn't notice that. Yeah... I used to cringe when I forgot and attempted to re-examine ONE VST3 plugin and DP launched into a mass re-examination of EVERY VST3 installed on my Mac. 10 minutes wasted. I have over over a 1,000 third party plugins.

Didn't know that was a bug either. I just thought that it was a gigantic time suck to be endured. Yes!
