DP 11.33 keeps exporting empty or incomplete MIDI **SOLVED (forehead slap)

I'm trying to export a specific MIDI track to produce tablature for it in any notation program.

I've used both expore selection as MIDI file; and Save a Copy As... with SMF Type 1.

No matter what I do, the file is empty.

I can't think of anything that isn't obvious. To check, I selected a time range, and tracks with MIDI, went to File>export selection as MIDI, and clicked OK. Right click the exported file and select, Open in Logic, and I get exactly what I exported from DP. Could it be the range selection that's the problem?

It does get a bit overwhelming when simple operations require a NAS launch checklist prior to execution. I keep swearing to dig out my Sony SOS 8 track setup.
