Motu 16A Windows USB driver not working anymore - RESOLVED

Hi all,

I need some help to get my Motu 16A working again on my system.

I'm runnig the Motu 16A via USB into a Notebook with Windows 10, 64bit. Everything worked fine since 2017.
Unfortunately I updated the Motu 16 A firmware and the Windows driver a while ago - without properly deinstalling the driver before.
Now I can deinstall and install drivers of different versions as much as I want; the device is found, but not working properly via usb anymore (no sound; Cubase can not even show the latency with the device).

I checked the 16A itself with a notebook of a friend; there everything works fine.

Is there any procedure to remove old drivers or relevant files which seem to prevent a working installation?
(I am not able to restore a Windows backup or to set up the system completely anew...)

Thank you for any helpful advice.

Because of the holidays, it’s probable that MOTU Tech Support is shut down till next week. Here is the resource page for MOTU Pro Audio devices.:

https://motu.com/proaudio/index.html
MOTU Pro Audio Installer

With Widows, pathway problems are the most likely culprits. These can be caused by OS updates and other applications as well. Unfortunately, I do not see it in the User Manual.

Perhaps, someone else around here will know this for Windows. If not, you will have to post a Tech Link in your MOTU User account and wait till they get back to you on this.

Hi Mike,

thanks for your replay and the advice to contact Motu support directly.

I finally did that and got help within a day and the issue was resolved.

The problem was not the update of windows or the drivers. It was just that the motu items were disabled in the start-up sequence of windows (Start Apps). After enabling them and restarting everything worked just fine.
