Hi all,
I'm getting close to the end of another production music album (phew) and have to provide 30 second cut-downs.
I've done this before and it's always messy, so I kinda dread it.
Are there any specific techniques, workflows, tools in DP that might help me out? I'd appreciate the help to make the process less like pulling a tooth!
Thanks
Darren

Re: 30 second cut downs
My only tip: try both MIDI and Audio tracks when doing cutdowns. Audio gives you predictable control. MIDI gives you happy surprises and flowing transitions.

Re: 30 second cut downs
For those who might have the same question, this was my solution:
Bounce out a stereo file of the complete song/piece/track and check 'add to Soundbites'
Copy the markers from the Conductor track.
Within the same project, create a new sequence/chunk
Set the tempo to match
Past the markers into the Conductor track the new sequence
creat a new marker at the 30 second mark
Drag the Stereo file onto the sequence window and make sure it is left aligned.
Set the grid to whole note
Use the scissor tool to cut the track into whole measure slices.
Create a new audio track
Copy the bars you need to this new track to fill 30 seconds.
Crossfade and edge edit where necessary.
This worked well for me - although I'm sure there's more than a few highly experienced people here who are probably facepalming right now.
Hope this helps someone...

Re: 30 second cut downs
Hey guys I have done those before. How do you deal with the reverb tail at the end ? Part of your 30 or 60 sec piece of music ? Thanks !
