I just wonder. Many of us use cartoon and other avatars and nick names here.
Fine, this is a forum after all. People want to be incognito or?
Me and some others always show a real pic of us here in our avatar.
So now my request: wouldn´t it be nice if more of us show our real faces?
Or at least post a real pic of youself in this topic?
Thanks for sharing
I also really like it when folks use their real names on public forums, at least in their sigs. Nice to know who you're talking to, and I think it also helps to keep things civil.
Yes I agree on the real name too.
For me my nick Radiogal has almost becoming a trademark so it´s hard to get rid of that one.

My ugly mug's on my site if anyone chooses. (In my sig. It's been 3 years since being updated. Procrastination, anyone?)
Anyone can call me Chris, or Berg, or whatever else comes to mind. My screen name cbergm7210 is the one that AOL gave me in 1993 when I first signed up for dial up internet access for the studio. Couldn't bear to give it up, nerdy as that is.
Right now, my avatar is my son Elijah, if that counts for anything.

Mixed feelings about this.
Not to get too intellectual or deep about a simple request but I messaged James about this early on when I signed up here and used my real name as to whether I could switch to another sig. On other message boards I'm machinesworking. I play heavy aggressive techno industrial punk/metal, and although I appreciate and like a great interview with band members of a band I like it's also always a bit of a let down. The person may have political or personal beliefs I don't share and an attitude I don't like (know it all, egomaniac, hates all other other music that's close to their chosen genre etc.), and getting to know someone through a medium like an interview, what they're willing to share on a forum etc. isn't really getting to know them, and does ruin a bit of the mystique of their music. I'm probably going to change my sig at some point, and it's not because I'm wanting to hide behind a jpg etc. but because don't want the music I do to be linked to my feelings about a DAW or what bands or genres I like, or any of that.
I guess a great example would be the internet ramblings of Analog Industries front man Chris randell. He tends to go off about a DAW if it has problems with one of their plug ins, he's sent open hate letters to bands that have been caught pirating his software, and he often makes random quips about things without being 100% sure that he has a point, IE "I've been using DAWs for years and DP still confuses me." He has a right to do all this, no doubt, but I would rather not think about any of that when I hear his band, but I do.

My names John. Glad to meet you
After looking at some of the posted websites I must say there are some incredibly talented individuals gathered here in our little civil part of the internet world

I've used a photo (of me!) for a while. I don't want my full name in my profile, but it's easy enough to click the link to my web site for that (and for more pix). So far, I don't have any head shots - but the lenses keep breaking whenever someone tries to do a close-up.
I agree with Patricia - it's nice to know who you're sharing with, especially at a great forum like this.
