424 card not reading

Out of the blue my 424 pci card is not reading..the song loads fine but the inputs and outputs are italicized and grayed out ..as if it was off..i just updated my driver, but to no avail..i checked firewire and that is secure..i tried numerous times restarting..reboot..shutdown..unplug- replug..but still no card...any help would be appreciated. i ran and checked preferences as well....the other part of the equation is the PCI card is showing in the system preferences ..it's just not reading in DP7.24 or working at all. thanks ..

Try to take the PCI 424 out and put it back into the Mac in another PCI slot. Reinstall the drivers and then repair permissions.
If this doesn´t work the PCI card might be broken...

thanks radiogal...This morning i was able to open up my session without a problem. I worked for a few hours .which is quite baffling...my techs tell me the card may be on it's way out or my APC backup power-supply is in need of a battery..(which it is) .At any rate i may just get another pci card from motu for a nominal fee of $100..or upgrade to a 896mk3..thanks again..
