Virtual keyboard not working in UniSyn 1.14 for Alesis

One of the things I've noticed in beginning to work with UniSyn 1.14 is that the onscreen keyboard doesn't work. It makes no sound when you hit a note. Normally the QS6 that I use it with is about 5 feet from the computer running the editor so it's foiling my plan of not having the synth right in front of the computer. 
Anyone else have this prob?
