MOTU ADAT and MacBook Pro Optical

I'm looking at getting a MOTU 896HD and a MacBook Pro. They both have Optical connectors, but the MOTU has the Lightpipe type connector and the MacBook Pro has the mini-headphone Optical input. Can I connect these and if so, what would I need to facilitate?

Assuming you can set the optical i/o on the 896 to toslink format instead of adat, you can get an optical miniplug-toslink cable and connect the two that way. You'll only get 2 channels though.
