How are you folks getting Kontakt 8 to validate? It fails every time I try, even after updates, and regardless of VST vs. AU.
I thought I remembered using it in the previous DP update, but it fails any time I reexamine it now. This is slowing me down as I'm doing a lot of re-tracking and part-switching currently, and don't want have to do it all over once K8 validates.

Me either. I think he also mentioned in another thread that updating a particular plug-in is taking 45 minutes on his Mac? Something must be seriously wrong. I think he said he’s going to upgrade to a Mac Studio soon? Sooner the better. I would suspect all those issues go away. Just do a clean install.

Same here.

A few things:
First, any Kontakt update only validates on a Mac after a shut down and restart; reboot won't do it. It's been that way for years now.
I noticed that K8 loaded faster after I updated DP to 11.34.
My NI libraries are on a separate drive. First was an SATA III SSD—these max out at USB 3 (now 3.1 gen1) speeds around 520kB/s and nothing can make those drives faster. I moved them over to a 4TB NVMe blade in a USB4 housing but, having run out of ports on my Studio, I plugged it into one of the USB-C 3.2 gen2 ports in my Studio Display (same as the front ports on the M4 Max) these run twice as fast and there was an improvement. The reason I ordered that TB4 OWC hub was to get another USB4 port for that drive. Theoretically 4x the speed of 3.2 gen2, the reality is 2.5x faster and nearly 6x faster than SATA III. Very noticeable difference in how much faster my Kontakt libraries now load.
When you get your new Studio, you will want your NI VIs on that new OWC Envoy Ultra TB5 external and plugged directly into a TB5 port on the back—if not enough ports, they are already shipping TB5 hubs.

USB4/TB4/3 will cost less, of course, and you can build up to 8TB but only runs half the speed—as does James's and my Studios with their TB4 ports. I can give you recommendations.
Finally... After my first accidental upgrade that put me into the 7th level of Sequoia Hell, it took about a month to learn that corrupted Permissions were at the root of every problem. It was a few weeks ago, working on another issue that Apple told me about the following. Some of my problems were System/Library but most were User. This would have saved me a lot of time.
How to reset all User Permissions. Open Terminal and run the following (copy and paste):
diskutil resetUserPermissions / `id -u` <Enter or Return key>
(enter Admin password when prompted)
Reboot
Getting Native Access to install my NI libraries onto my externals also required me to grant full R/W Permissions onto them. This is done in GetInfo after formatting them APFS.

RE: Fixed a bug causing DP to reexamine all previously skipped plugins of the same format in addition to the selection when attempting to reexamine specific VST2 or VST3 plugins from the Audio Plug-in Preferences.
No you have NOT! Just tried w DP11.34 and MAC mini 2024 M4PRO running OS15.4 ... Tried to examine Vocalign VST3 , highlighted only that plugin and nDP started examinign every VST3 plugin and then ulitimately crashed afetr OK ing 20 or so UAD plugins that were not activated because I don't own them.
Thoughts?

That one is always so hit or miss. I don't know if it solves it, but wondering, did you search for Vocalign in the search box to find it before highlighting it? It would make sense to do so, but I remember thinking that if I didn't search and just scrolled till I found the plugin and THEN highlighted it, it would sometimes avoid the whole re-examination.
You have my sympathy... I have a LOT of VST3s on my system because even though I don't use it, I have Cubase 14, so I installed VST3s as well. Seems simpler when I was only using DP and only installed Audio Units (except in those cases like Melodyne, Console 1, and I guess Vocalign where you must use VST3 to get full features).

If

If DP has not put a non-priority plug-in through verification, it will examine all of them once you select one. The next time, this should not happen.

Thanks for your earlier hints, Mike. I've been super busy with taxes, a gazillion gigs and recording sessions, and the day job along with house projects, so I've gotten behind on responses to posts but I keep them bookmarked so I don't forget later.
I will NOT be using Migration Assistant when my Mac Studio arrives in late June (there's about a two month lead time when ordering anything other than the stock build, and I placed my order right after Tax Day). In the past, I have always used it, and that has stacked up across architectural shifts and three computers, so even using my computer skills at the command line level, resetting preferences now and then, and analyzing everything on the main drive, I probably need a fresh start.
As for Kontakt 8, I will unfortunately have to stick with Kontakt 7 until the new computer arrives, unless another update fixes things. That means I am also avoiding new Kontakt libraries until that time. Given how the new computer is imminent, it's not worth wasting time, as my main priority right now is to convert all remaining SD2 files to BWAV.
As for the latest DP update, it seems faster and more stable than previous updates; I haven't had a crash yet.
