Pigments 6 taking a long time to load in DP 11.34? - RESOLVED

Post by BKK-OZ »

I’m finding that Pigments 6 (Arturia) is taking forever to load in 11.34.
Everything seems to work ok after loading, but it’s a pain.

Is anyone else having the same issue?
Cheers,
BK

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.

I use Pigments frequently and have not noticed this. What are your system specs? ...note mine.

I'm running an M1 Mac mini, with Sonoma v 14.7

Interestingly, this problem never came up under 11.33, so I decremented and re-installed that version, but alas, the loading time problem persists.

Annnnd now it's fixed.

I used Arturia's Software Centre app to reinstall Pigments.
(A little drop down menu next to the Uninstall button.)

Apart from forgetting which preset I had loaded in the project I had been working on, everything seems 100% normal.
All my sound banks and favorites are there.

I dunno what happened.
I have been deleting a bunch of files because my internal drive is overfilled ATM, so maybe I deleted something important.

Glad you got it sorted. I still can't get the arp out sidechain thing working with the latest versions of everything.

I'll mark this "RESOLVED." Also moving it to the "Troubleshooting" forum where it should have been posted.

I had hoped version 6 would fix the problem, but alas... I can't get the MIDI out from the arpeggiator to work either. I previously raised a ticket with Arturia (during version 5), and I just now raised a support ticket with MOTU:

"MTL490552 - MIDI out from Arturia's Pigments not working in DP"

I will remind Arturia that it still isn't working.
I reckon DP is low on their list of priorities.

If you have a spare minute, I suggest also raising a support ticket, because it might attract a bit more attention.
It's definitely a DP problem, users of other hosts aren't reporting this issue at all.
