Hello my old DP loving friends it has been a long time
Hi all, do you remember me, it's been a long time since I posted on here, but fear not I still use DP even though I'm still using 7 although I did buy 9 but never got around to installing it on my main recording computer..
I've been doing a once in 20 year archive off multiple drives and DVD/CD backups which is taking forever (I've archived to 400GBs already) much left to go and I've been finding much gold that I had forgotten about and remixing the best of the best of it. It's amazed me that I've been opening DP session files from 2002 on version 4.1 and they open like the day I closed them, not one has been corrupted, in doing this I thought of my old friends on motunation who helped me so many times and thought I'd drop by and say hello..

Hope you can drop in more often. You gave me a lot of useful advice when I was trying to switch from Cubase to DP.

Hey Cass! been a while. I changed to lurk mode with all this Apple silicon/ ARM stuff.
DVD/CD archives -yikes, its getting to find any more. I purchased 200 disc of each a few years ago the good ones that took over Taiyo Yudens machines. Haven't used much at all

I've had not one not work, I've had a few that needed a bit of love, but they have all worked, even CD backups from 20 years ago all have been fine, pretty amazing really

Re: Hello my old DP loving friends it has been a long time
Hey Kassonica & Monkey Man,
I just popped back in to see what the buzz on the street on DP11 is like. Have hardly been on here for the last few years (I guess I got busy and had kids). Good to see you both!
I've happily been using DP9 for the last few years, and I'm trying to see if there's any reason to upgrade. It just works SO WELL!!! And I have no desire whatsoever to use DP like Ableton - which seems to be what most of the changes in DP10 & 11 have been about.

Talk about an Aussie "reunion".
Yeah, still on v8.07 here so I can 100% relate to what you're saying. If it ain't broke...

Mr Clifford !
I’m sticking with V10 at the moment. The improved pitch functions make changing audio tempo and small pitch corrections trouble free, much better than V9 if that sort of thing is useful. Otherwise, V9 is a sweet spot. I can’t see anything in V11, unless you’re desperate for articulation control.

DP 11.04 runs Native on Apple Silicon. Not so important now when many plugins don’t but that will change.
