Monitoring input with DAW Mix via grid routing

Post by LemfGently »

Hi there,

I am struggling to understand the setup with my new 828es.

I wish to listen to my main mix while also hearing the analogue (1-2) inputs I wish to record. Is it possible to set this up in the grid routing page for the 828es?

I can either hear the main mix OR the analogue (1-2) inputs I wish to record, but not both. Is it possible?

Thanks in advance, Alexander.

Can you post a link to a picture of your routing matrix? Are you using a preset?

Yeah, it takes a while to get your noggin' around the matrix..

Not familiar w/ Logic, but you have to make sure the audio tracks are going into the "to computer" inputs of the matrix and you activate( enable) them to your main mix via from computer.

If you mess around with the interface +MIX preset, you'll see how you can route to just about anywhere- though it does get confusing. MOTU has some good starter videos & explanations in their knowledge base * tech notes.

In brief, you want to route both your computer output and your live sources into the AVB Mixer. From there, you can route signal as you see fit.
