I think the new hand and velocity tools might be my favorite features in this update. I'm finding myself using them all the time.
I have a Kensington trackball on my right and a Contour ShuttlePro v2 on my left. It's taken a long time for me to find the right peripherals—particularly for big projects when I have to manipulate a lot of notation and MIDI information (i.e. manual edits that require a lot of clicking).
The trick so far has been assigning a big button on the Contour Shuttle to a held mouse click and then using the trackball for the positioning only. Spreading these actions between two hands has been a great workflow boost and decreased muscle fatigue considerably.
Unfortunately, the Contour software only lets you assign buttons to a keyboard shortcut or a mouse click (w/ optional modifier), but not both at once. For example, I'd like to press a button on the Contour and have it hold down the "V" key and a left mouse click, then releasing them both when I release the button.
I've tried to find workarounds with Keyboard Maestro and Better Touch Tool...no luck. Is this possible? I would be willing to give up the Contour for a different device.

Any way you could modify the pertinent DP Command to work for you with your current setup?

I and others have become converts to the Magic Trackpad 2. I don’t use my mouse or trackball anymore.
