Come to think of it, I've been guilty of that.

Anyone rush over and get the new VEPRo6 that was just released today and see if their slowdowns and glitches with a large template along with VEPro5 is improved at all?

I have one more cue to write here today and will probably chug through 9.1 to just get it done...spinning beach balls and all. But then before completely jumping ship back to 9.02...I may get VEPro 6 Upgrade and see what that does. At that point...why not? right?

A report on the Digital performer Facebook group says that VEPro6 gave an error when opening in DP 9.1 stating to disable VST versions of the plug and use MAS instead...and, then on subsequent opening, could not open any VEPro6 instances in DP 9.1. I personally have not tried it yet as I am waiting for my download links from VSL...but I did purchase the update today. Regardless..tread lightly if anyone wants to test 9.1 with the new VEPro6.

Interesting. In 9.1 I couldn't BTD when PSP Xenon VST was present in the system (even if not in use). Crashed every time. Moved to the AU and no problems. So maybe there's an issue with some VSTs and 9.1?

Oh, somehow I didn't notice it's already released -- I thought it was simply on pre-order this month.

probably I got confused because NI Komplete is on pre-order at the moment and was announced the same day as VE Pro 6.

Just to add my experiences of introducing VEP6 to DP9.1 today..

Upgrading VEP was easy, but launching for the first time on both MacPro and MBP machines was a nightmare - VEP froze or crashed loads of times while validating plugins - mostly the VST's, the AU's pretty much validated fine. Got there eventually though

Once everything was running, as mentioned above, I also had issues with the buffer settings. I agree with others that the VEP should be set to "4 buffers". Even then I found the audio breaking up when DP buffer size is set to anything less than 512. At 512 and higher audio seems solid. (Incidentally Logic seems to need a minimum buffer size of 1024 so 9.1 is a winner there!)

Freezing seems to work OK too, but I've only tested so far with single instances of Omnisphere and Spitfire Sable strings in VEP and no time at the moment to check for larger templates/setups...

BTW I have to say I'm loving the latency improvement/snappiness in 9.1

Anyone running the new DP 9.1 on older machines? I currently running 8.07 on a 2x2.66 GHz 6-Core with 48 GB ram, I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading and will the new DP run as smoothly as 8.07 does for me.

Thanks!

It's blazing on my machine (see sig below). 9.1 does seem to have a few glitches though so I'd suggest waiting for MOTU to fix the obvious ones (e.g. controllers/event chasing). You could always go up to 9.02 in the meantime, that is really stable. Hope this helps...

Hot dog! I just got two emails from MOTU telling me that 9.1 is available!

hehehe...

Of course, it DID occur to me that maybe it's 9.1.1 or something. That would be amazing. But I think it's 9.1, just now getting here. These InterTubes are slowing down to US Mail speeds!
