Hey, I am a new M53 user and I am loving it very much. Wondeful sounds and a great look&feel.
I am sorry to start with a problem in my first post but I do have a stability problem. M53 crashed a few times this week. It happens as standalone and as VST. I am trying out to find the problem. Is there a crashlog available for M53?
I am using a laptop and my RAM is low but 4GB is the maximum. I am running Presonus Studio One and Halion 5 with no problems, but when I start M53 it sometimes crashes. It mostly do so when I am sending a lot of MIDI events like sustain, mod wheel, octave shift etc., so I suspect my old crappy MIDI-controller (core MIDI, no driver). Can this be true or should I look elsewere? I don't have another MIDI board to try, but I am looking for a new board (not because of the crashes).
Please let me know what you think. Thanks.
cheers,
Anton

Re: M53 crash problem
Hi, i'm also win7\x32 user.
I did not come across yet to issues related with MIDI. But i know one simple action in MF3 which cause the stable crash.
For reproduce this: open MF3, create new empy instrument from Sample category, and just double click on empty "Keygroup 1" field. It will cause crash in any DAW (incl. Studio One) in Win7\32bit.
It is unpleasant, but not critical for me (but i hope someday it will be fixed). Fortunately, i have not seen other problems yet.
There is else problem (or say inconvenience), that after remove MF3 vst from project in daw (especially after load heavy sample patches) RAM is not cleared automatically (as it occur in some other popular samplers), well, maybe it's the mf3 specificity. But of course, this problem is not directly related to the crashes. Just as another nuance of mf3 in above system.

Re: M53 crash problem
Thanks for the reply. Maybe I will update to Windows 8 soon. Are there problems to expect with Windows 8?
