896HD Firewire output distorted

Hi there,

Whenever I call up Reason or MachFive after auditioning a couple of samples the output drops in level and gets all distorted. If i go back to the DP sequence the output from the 896HD is distorted. Has anyone else gone through this??

Setup:
Mac DP 1.2 Ghz, LaCie firewire HD
Digi 001, PT6.4, Reason 2.0, MachFive 1.2
