MIDI Life Crisis wrote:As for the porn name, I lived in two houses as a child with two "first" pets (mine or my family's. My porn name choices are: Sandy 69 or Lucky Scooter. Both are kind of catchy...
LOL... I think "Lucky Scooter" has a great ring to it!
Hah, that's funny, I'm guessing you grew up in Hawai'i? Then you probably know about some of the street names on the Big Island.
I don't have my notes from that trip, but remember something to the effect of a street sign at the intersection of "Na'peepee St." and "Peepee Falls Rd.".
I guess that's the curse of having a language with so few basic sounds in it.

Well, the "flake" that I mentioned earlier actually used my jazz score as her PhD requirement (ironically in Music Ethics), and conveniently kept me from direct contact with the actual movie director and crew (little did I know her intent at the time).
It still ticks me off to this day, as those guys went on to land a Big Money contract right after that, but had no way to contact me directly as they didn't know enough about who I was (nor I them).
I had done the work pro bono, so money wasn't the issue. But the experience nevertheless did cause me to extrapolate the possibilities should I ever get beyond my current stage, and I promised myself not to ever do a favour for someone like that again.
If I had had the "C-Grade Horror Film" experience mentioned above with a larger production venture and real money involved, I would be having a MIDI Life Crisis too .

Seems I'm getting more calls to create music "blind" than actually to picture these days. Ironic, I think, in these days of email-able QuickTime films, but maybe it's an indication of how everyone's in a hurry. So far my experiences so far have been OK. The horror stories I read here, particularly mhschmeider's about someone using his music for their own PhD requirements , YIKES!
